Gaz mask are not toy: They must be only used if your life is threatened, and just for the required time to leave the toxic area.
You must not use it if there is no danger. You must not voluntarily go to a toxic area because you think you are protected by a gaz mask. Like any other protection a gaz mask cannot protect you from 100% of the danger.
You must put the gaz mask very meticulously, even if there is an alert. Your hair must not hinder contact between the gaz mask and the skin. If you wear a beard it can prevent airtightness.
Read attentively the gaz mask and filter instructions for use.
Gaz Masks are for ADULT only. Do not give them to children, do not let children find it, do not let children play with it: they must suffocate if they do not use it properly.
When in use, filters cartridges must be changed every few hours, do not reuse old filters: trash them.
A gas mask is not a magic protection to all kind of threat. It is a way to greatly improve your protection against toxic airborne agent but it is not infallible.
To wear a mask is the first step for a good protection. Others steps may be suitable like wearing an airtight suit, or better a full closed air system with oxygen bottles.
