EnerPro220Tr/20kA is used for categories C and D 230V ~ inputs. Its use is especially recommended where no primary and/or secondary protection is installed. It is built into an easy to handle snap-on housing for 35mm DIN rail mounting. A green LED signal shows that the operating voltage has been achieved and that the protective circuit is in full working order. The protection elements are automatically extinguishing valve conductors which lead to the PE respectively high performance varistors placed between phase and neutral conductor. Once they have acted as surge arresters with subsequent discharge of the partial lightning current pulses, the follow-on currents are switched off automatically. The gas-filled performance arrester leading to the PE blocks any leakage current pulses that may come from the varistors. EnerPro220Tr/20kA has a thermal disconnection device which will respond if the varistors emit excessive leakage current pulses due to overloading. The thermal disconnector is situated in the cross section thus cutting off only the surge protective device from the mains (no operating disruption); when this happens, the red LED signal will light up and the optional potential-free contact will open.
