The control panel is the core of the control system. All the peripherals are joined up to it: detector, contacts, signallings, etc. It provides the power supply of the whole installation even if there is a power failure thanks to a built-in battery. The panel controls 24hr/24hr the whole installation and cables included to prevent any attempt of sabotage. In case of alarm, it will activate the siren, the telephone transmitter, the paralysing gas cartridge, etc. It also manages all the time lapse relays: the delay that is necessary to activate the alarm and get out without the siren activating itself (exit delay), the delay that is necessary to enter and desactivate the alarm (enter delay) and the duration of it. Many models of control panels exist. They are mainly differentiated by the number of zones corresponding to the quantity of peripherals that the panel will be able to manage. It is always important to foresee 1 to 2 supplementary zones to keep the ability of developping the installation.
